Commercial Litigation
Commercial litigation can be expensive, time-consuming and frustrating for a business owner. My approach to commercial litigation includes the following goals:
- Determine the company’s goals and strategies at the beginning of the litigation. It is critical to do this at the beginning of the case, whether my client is a Plaintiff or a Defendant. This prevents wasted time, effort and money during the course of the litigation. It is important to understand that commercial cases can often take two to three years to complete, if they go all the way to trial. Thus, setting goals and strategies at the beginning is critical, even though these may change as the case develops.
- Setting Budgets at All Phases. I represent a lot of smaller and medium-sized companies, and budgeting the costs of litigation is important to these companies, as it should be. While it is not possible to predict the full cost of litigation, as it depends upon the opposing company and the opposing counsel, I will try to give you a realistic budget at the beginning of your case, and updates as the case progresses.
- Personal Service and Communication with the Client. I pride myself on personal service to all of my clients and I pledge to let you know at all points the status of your litigation, and to consult you at all appropriate times. You should feel free to contact me at any point in your case if you want to discuss it, or have any concerns about what is happening.
- Resolving your Case Quickly and Efficiently. My goal is to finish your case as soon as possible, with the best possible result for you. I will never prolong a case if the case can be settled or resolved at an earlier point. I will not engage in prolonged discovery or other pre-trial procedures if they can be avoided or shortened. My goal is to be cost-efficient and effective so that your Company can move on to do what it does best—run its business.
